300lb or 275lb QA1 springs for street/strip car?

Which spring rate should i got with and why? I have QA1 single adjustables all the way around with 170lb springs in the back (or atleast i think thats what they are).

For the front?? I would think you'd want the heavier spring rate. For weight transfer, you want the front to lift, and not squat too much on the way back down, right? (hence the typical "90/10" front shocks). I think a heavier front spring would compliment the 90/10 shock theory .

But that's just my un-educated/scientifical guess .

Well they say the lighter ones (275lb) are for drag race, the 300lb are for street/strip and the heavier ones (315lb) are for road race?

Oh and yes for the front. I have 170lb QA1 springs in the back!

Which brand are these springs? And do any/all of them raise/lower the ride height from stock?

315 lb springs aren't quite enough for "road race" IMO . But I don't see the advantage to soft front springs for drag racing?? AND, the rear rate actually seems too high?! Heck, I've got Sam Strano's REAL "road racing" suspension, which gives 550 lb springs in the front, but only 150 in the back?! I wouldn't think you'd want a stiffer spring in the back for drag racing?!?!?!

I think we need more experience/opinions!!

The QA1 springs are more drag race oriented. We recommend the following below when choosing QA1 springs-

275lb- For cars with front end weight reduction such as AC removal, front bumper support removed ect. Drag Race only

300lb- For drag racing and vehicles that see normal street use or driving.

Hope that helps!

Thanks,

Guess i will just go with the 300lb springs since i dont have any front end weight reduction at this moment.

I'll admit that i don't understand drag racing that well (i do the twisty stuff), but why bother replacing the fronts with 300lb springs? The stock fronts are 292lb. Seems like a waste of time and money for an extra 8lbs of spring. Is there something more to these springs i'm not getting?

Very good question. Does anyone know the answer to this?

I'm running the HAL QA1 12 way coilovers at all four corners and I used the 300 lb linear rate QA1 spring up front, rears are the 150 lb linear rate QA1 (I think, maybe 175 lb ?). The car has BMR / Strano / etc. everywhere with a street / track alignment. To be honest, QA1's are probably not the best springs you can run for daily driving, but they perform much better than I would have expected on the street. My car feels very good when aggressively driving the package on twisty roads, plus a good compromise for the strip. I'm sure having a complete suspension setup will make a huge difference, still impressed with the street performance of the (dis-advantaged) QA1.

I think your front numbers are correct, but I thought the rears were a little higher rate spring ? I would agree a totally stock WS6 suspension rides pretty good on the street; although, this setup is pretty close on a street ride and it handles damn well when it's pushed.

I decided to run a set of stock springs up front on the QA1 double adjustable's. Maybe you could try that out for awhile and then switch to the QA1 springs if you are not happy?
