The ucf car club board...
The ucf car club board...
I know some recently found out about them, and they linked ot the board, anyone still have that link?
Apparently they had some sort of an autocrosss event on campus on saturday, but I heard the turnout was crappy and only 2 actual UCF students showed up. Apparently it was advertised all over campus, but I found out about it the day after at an autocross in Tavared, FL. Yet I am on campus probably a total of 15-20 hours a week.
Jsut wondering cuz it woudl be alot nicer to drive down alafaya then to drive all over the state for autocrosses

there was more than 2 students
it was on the education lot, SCCA invite-only event to see if the new place to set up was going to be worth it.
ended up that anyone who wanted to race could, and i believe one of the actual ucf car club people raced. i would have raced mine but my tires and battery tie down wouldn't have passed tech.
i rode with my buddy in his 240sx just about 17 times, in the corvette once, and with the worked mustang twice. it was friggin awesome.
they won't be doing it at ucf again however... why? because even though all paperwork was filed, UCF police tried to shut it down when they first got there, then UCF parking ****'s came by twice to shut it down, the second time telling everyone to shut off the cars and don't move. i think they decided the UCF beaucracy was so horrible they're just not going to bother, that and the education lot only allowed for a 30 second course.

I just read about it... only 12 people running?
not very many...
What about the Arena parking lot on the side? Thats pretty big....
As for UCF police. I am sure something happened where they were not informed, I woudl think it was a non-sanctioned event also if there was only 12 cars...
Either way they shoudl keep trying... but it seems like the people that organized it had no idea what was going on...

Was the worked Stang red, trailered in and owned by an older guy from Cocoa? If so that was Glenn. Yeah he's pretty quick. He beat me a couple times last year in his Cobra. I think his GT is even better too.
