question about OSW

i assume they still do friday nite T&T??

how much is it?
how busy?

i'm planning on being up in the melbourne area in 2 weeks for a long weekend. would love to see what the car runs since all the mods...hell AT ALL. i've never ran it...period.

just wondering if it's worth the gas and entrance fee? or will i only get 2 or 3 runs?

since i've only been to a track 2 times with my old car, i pretty much SUCK at launching. so it would probably take me a few times to get any kind of decent run. thats assuming i can even get traction on street tires and 400rwhp.

maybe my time and effort would be better used on making an appointment at Norris for a little better dyno tune.
i think i have more power in the tune AND i've added a few things since the last dyno run.

My guess is the place will be packed since the weather is going to be down in the low 60's/upper 50's

NORRIS NORRIS NORRIS!!!!

They did my tune, I love it. And with 400 rwhp, street tires, and assuming you haven't had your right foot amputated, you're probably not getting much traction at OSW. Some nights they do a good job, but it's downright dangerous at that place sometimes. If it's not crowded with minivans and stock imports full of high school kids, you can get good runs, they actually do prep, and it's worth the money. When I've been in cold weather, it's crowded, they don't prep, and I've only gotten a couple runs in. If you've never been to a track, it's exciting and fun. Just be EXTRA careful you don't turn her sideways and into the wall, because it's OSW.

Re: question about OSW

It's best to go on wed night, friday night has way too many teens and crappy water slinging import drivers. Wed night can be busy if the weather is really good, but generally it's not too bad. You should be able to get in 4-6 runs on a typical wed night and 3-4 runs on a friday. This is assuming there are no bad wrecks.

Oh, and let me know what night you're going to go, I'd love to see you run your car(I miss my Camaro). I'll take the Audi and we can all laugh at how slow it is, despite an AWD/Turbo launch.

Re: question about OSW

well i'll be driving up from the keys....

<-----

and since i work during the week, i can only take so many days off, specially since i don't get paid for turkey day.

i'm thinking i should be able to do a HELL OF ALOT better than 380hp. i'm really leaning towards the tune.

not to mention i'm on a stock 10bolt...so if i bust something...it's a 400 mile tow to get home

any one know norris' phone number off hand??

maybe i'll just go and watch.

Camride...i've never met you but i've been familiar with you from the board for a long time.
i still remember when you first installed the "camride exhaust" on your camaro...i think it was a flowmaster 40series on the Ypipe...damn

(407)869-7223. Used to be called Norris Motorsports, now the shop goes by Next Level Performance. You may want to schedule an appointment, I know they do a ton of business (because they're good). If you need directions let me know, it's not that hard to find. It's about 5 minutes from where I went to high school. If you have any horsies lurking in your tune, Mike will find them.

Re: question about OSW

They were running a special when I got it done last December, it was $395.00. From what I understand that was like $100.00 less than usual? Worth every penny IMO, and I also believe that if you need another tune in the future it's only $100.00 a pop. For what you get I think it's a good deal, but I'm not sure what the mail tunes cost.

OSW is super busy.

last two wednesday's i've gone i got 2 runs in from 6:00pm - 10:00pm

its also turning into walmart, fewer and fewer people speaking english, no one respecting eachother's stuff, and no one respecting the facilities (trash on ground, dragging water out of waterbox, people dumping oil all over the staging lanes, etc).

i don't intend to go back for awhile.

Re: question about OSW

Yep, I loved that exhaust. Still hands down the best sounding exhaust on a stock F-body. Let me know if you go, I'll head out there. Plus, i wouldn't worry about breaking your 10 bolt, OSW isn't likely to have good enough traction to!
