Here in West Palm, we had rain for 3 weeks in a row. W/ the storm it rained about 1 min, thats it! Good luck to everybody on the west coast!! The wife has some family in the middle of the hardest hit area, no word yet.

Re: hurrcane

We've been cleaning our yard and helping all the neighbors out all day...i haven't seen one house yet in my neighborhood where there isn't any damage. I've been taking my camera around w/me all day and snapping pictures here and there...your jaws will drop when you see some of them. I would imagine one of the few people w/power in Orlando and thats why I'm the only who's chimed in so far about the storm. I'll have the pics for you guys a little later on.

Re: hurrcane

My neighborhood on the west side of Orlando came through pretty good and all I lost was a few shingles. I still don't have power though but the laptop and a dial up connection are working right now. I went into Winter Park to check on my parents and there yard looks like a war zone with toppled trees and broken limbs though.

Re: hurrcane

I live on the west coast near the water, but was home for the weekend and this thing totally surprised me.

I thought for sure we'd get hammered near the Gulf, but central FL took it instead. My parent's house has debris all over the place and one of their 40' Cherry Laurels fell on the toolshed, causing damage. My uncle who is surrounded by woods had his house smashed by trees too. We also had no power for about a day and hardly any gas station was open around here. What a ****ty weekend.

Re: hurrcane

Glad to hear you all made it through ok, I was supposed to be back in Daytona on Thursday, but postponed it till next week (how is the daytona area, anyone know?). Now I hear there are two more tropical storms out in the atlantic that are both supposed to become hurricanes, I just love being the target in a shooting gallery

Re: hurrcane

lots of trees fell down here, and we had no power for 2.5 days, but not much else. we just got power back 30 mins ago.

i talked to one of my employees who lives in the portcharlotte/punta gorda area and all the windows in his condo got blown out, and a port-a-potty flew up in the air and landed on the roof of his car crushing it. he said roofing tiles were also whizzin around like projectiles of death, smashing everything, so many hit his wifes car it was totaled.
