Good shops in orlando?

i just got back from Irish Mike's and they can't figure out whats wrong w/ my car. heres a post from another board about its problems:

i have a 94 a4 firebird, i just went over 94K miles and i have a starting issue that i can't seem to figure out. w/in the past 3 months i've replaced the alternator, starter, and had the tranmission rebuilt. the weird thing is sometimes when it doesn't start it acts like the battery and other times the starter.

sometimes when i turn the key the car feels like its about to die so i let off and it backfires out the exhaust. other times when i turn the key it just doesn't start. for the past couple weeks whenever i start the car the 2nd gear start button would be on, even though i didn't hit it. 3 days ago i unplugged the switch and it was working fine. started up like a brand new car. yesterday when i started the car it was back to normal having problems starting and it still starts in 2nd gear, even though the switch isn't plugged in. so i have to turn off the car and restart it to get 1st back.

i've been to irish mike's before and it didn't act up, so i brought it in again and left it over night so it would do it in the morning. they said when they started it in the morning it was having problems, but then it was fine when scanned it and kept starting it. i guess no codes are coming up so they can't figure out what it is.

when i picked up the car this afternoon, it's now driving like the plug wires are bad. i had them replaced 2 months ago b/c it was driving like the way it is now. when i went back inside they were quick to tell me it was like that all day. so now i need to find another place to look at it who can actually figure out whats wrong w/ it.

wheres the closest/best gm dealer i can go to? or any good place in orlando that can fix this problem. ever since i went over 90K miles i've been having the worst luck w/ it. i really want to get rid of my car, but i won't be able to sell it w/ all of these problems. any help or input is appreciated.

btw, i got my plugs done and tranny rebuilt in sarasota, b/c i know a guy who has a shop and will do the work on the side. i don't want to drive the car back home b/c of my work and school schedule, i really don't have the time to.

My friends did the same thing and it was his computer. It was fried so he got a used one for like 50 bucks or something maybe less and it ran fine. I'm not really sure tho maybe fuel filter??? That kinda sounds like it could be the fuel filter too. Since the fuel filter is cheap i would replace that and it would make sense because of the mileage. I would do it for free if you wanted to drive somewhere close or even to me. Or you could look online and find directions on how to do it. It is not hard at all. It could be a number of things tho but its hit or miss right now as i see it. Hope this helped,
Dakota

i'm never going back to them again. i went to midas today b/c it was pretty much the only place open all day on sat and its right down the road. turns out one of my fuel injectors was unplugged causing it to misfire. i know these things don't just come out on their own, and it's really strange how it was fine the day i drop it off and when i pick it up it's running bad. they're such a horrible place. ok fine you unplug it for some reason, but for you to tell me its running like that all day and you can't figure out whats wrong w/ it b/c "no codes" are flashing, you don't deserve to call yourself a mechanic. needless to say i'm going back there on mon to get my $40 i paid midas to take off my strut bar and see the injector unplugged.

the mystery starting problem is still there. i was told by my mechanic back in sarasota to disconnect the battery for 30 min, then leave the car on in drive w/ ac turned on for 30 min to "relearn idle". its worth a shot trying, i'll just park my car in the driveway, block all 4 tires, pull the e-brake, and sit outside w/ my car to see if it fixes anything. if that doesn't work i'm going to remove my jet chip and probably look for a used computer off another 3.4L. hopefully i will figure this out soon.

It's about a half hour to 45minutes from UCF. It is in Ocoee.

Take 417 South to 408 West to Good Holmes Rd (you can stay on 408 longer, but this is just where I get off, lol...) then when you come to the light (SR. 50) make a left. (From here on, I forget all the road names, lol...) Stay on that road untill you see the Welcome to Ocoee sign, about 2-3 miles down the road. Then when you come to the first Mobil Gas Station on the right you want to make a right hand turn at the light just before the Mobil. Go down that road for a little while (it curves to the left and then back to the right) and when you come to a stop with a convience store just past the light on the right, you want to take a left at the light (I think the street is called Story Rd.). You will be on that road for about a 1/4 mile and then you will need to take a right on the street just before the 419 overpass (there is a wooden sign in the middle of the road that you are going to turn on to... says something about Orang something, lol...). Norris Motorsports is on this road at the end on the left just before the stop sign.

That's the best I can tell you how to get there, lol... sorry I am horriable with street names, but I can get to where I need to get so it's all good, lol...

Take 50 west and go right at the traffic light right after the chick-fil-a on the left. Then make a left at the first light which is Geneva. Follow that road past the Sysco warehouse and turn right into the industrial park just before the highway and after the Orange County Services Bldg.
