Gov. Jeb Bush called Tuesday for the repeal of the class-size and high-speed rail initiatives
"There is a strong belief that citizens when they voted were not aware of its costs," said Sen. Burt Saunders, R-Naples. "Had that class-size election been a month later, the vote would have failed."
Guess us VOTERS ARE JUST TO IGNORANT.... Glad we have those in office to lead us poor dumb souls...

I know I should leave this alone but...
This is a quote from your post just before this one.
In your first post you are concerned about the government spending too much money and in this post you are advocating it. You can't have your cake and eat it too.
This is a quote from your post just before this one.
The National Debt has continued to increase an average of $1.45 billion per day since September 30, 2002! Concerned? Then tell Congress and the White House!
I agree on spending less but I kinda think these programs were very important, especially the school one...
We really should start working on a Mass Transit system, Florida is going to get really bad in the future.

umm... i don't see what is wrong with this statement, i mean, the voters of florida have been known to not be able to figure out how to punch a little hole in a card, and that pregnant pigs amendment DID pass, did it not? you realize that there were 2 pig farms in florida, both of which slaughtered all of their pigs 2 weeks before the amendment took affect and moved out of state...
so yes, florida voters are ignorant is a polite way of putting it
Heh,...if you are a product of govenment education, then you probably are too ignorant to vote right.
Here's a test:
1. Do you really think that war in Iraq is about oil ?
2. Do you believe that the US is acting alone in the world in its stance that war may be necessary?
3. Do you think that the Iraqi people would be unable to govern themselve via democracy?
4. Is the USA a true democracy?
If you answered yes to any of the above, then maybe you are too ignorant, imho
The anwers to the above could take pages to fully explain, but here's a few points
1. The foreign oil interest in Iraq are French and Russian (mostly). Since these are supposedly allies of the US, we would not usurp thier interest when we establish a democratic system in Iraq (imagine, letting the Iraqi people decide what Iraq does,...). And if we really wanted the oil, we would have taken it during the last war in the gulf.
2. Of the 17 or so Nato countries, only three (France, Germany, and Belgium) oppose the US stance, all the others are on our side; including Britain, Spain, Italy, and so on. But you never hear that in the media,...
3. No, the Iraqi people dont exactly have much of a history of self determination. But neither did the Empire of Japan before WWII.
4. No we are not a true democarcy. We are a Representative Republic. We vote for representatives who do the actual voting for us. True if they vote against our wishes, we vote them out and replace them. Our system give us the people a chance to think about what we really want to do and not rule ourselves with knee jerk reactions.
Seriously, I want every one to vote. But I want people to vote knowing the whole story about issues.

exactly, do you really want the 17 year old mother of 5 shopping with food stamps at wal-mart to vote on if we should go to iraq or not? or if we should approve the next trade pact?
TRUE democracy doesn't work in large groups... which is why we run a representative democracy and its worked the last 200 some-odd years
