So how are we protecting the US by invading N Korea? They had nothing to do with 9-11? OH I see because they aren't listening to NATO and shutting down Nuclear developement....much like we aren't going to listen to NATO by invading another country.

How are we protecting our Allies when every ally is screaming at us to just STOP.

imho he should have never had a large buildup, never brought the allies in... just sent small teams in.


but now that he's done this, i think his biggest mistake is that at first he said screw NATO and the UN, then suddenly he tried to get their support. now its getting way too dragged out, and whenever you talk about going to war, the less likely you are to actually get people to want to do it. bodybags don't do well for our allies leaders, especially when our allies general public don't believe its a threat to them, only to us.

Any way North Korea promised in a treaty that they would not build WMDs. They are now going back on that promise. They say its because we didnt help them build nuclear power plants. That may be true. But sabre rattling isnt the answer.
If they launch a ballistic missle our way will you still think we are to blame?

 

Small teams General? Baghdad is a big city. Saddam never sleeps in the same bed on consecutive nights.
The big build up is giving Saddam a chance to see we mean business. Giving him a chance to pony up the WMDs or prove he does not have them. This is his war to avoid. Not ours. Where were you Clinton lovers when Wild Bill bombed Iraq during his impeachment hearings?

You associate Bush with good, and if he says war with Iraq is good then Yeeeeeeeeeee HAAAAAAAAAAAAW lets do it.

And ASSume that I am a Clinton fan, and wouldn't of disagreed with his decision to bomb Iraq at the time.




First to respond to some things you posted though.

1. It is only speculated that N Korea has WMD.
2. Even if they had them, it is widely accepted that their range would be very short. Not capable of hitting american soil.

We stirred N Korea first. It was in a Bush speech that out of the blue he labeled them an AXIS of EVIL. So they pretty much said...."This is our country, we can build what we want, and if we are an Axis of Evil then we might as well start up some nuke plants."

There is no proof that they are building WMD. Other than them turning on some nuclear (energy producing) plants. Guess what. If they didnt have energy sanctions on them, it wouldnt be an issue.

Whats funny to me is that we feel like we must protect the world from the possibility of Nukes being used. But the world is telling us to stop.

And we are the only country thats ever used them. Twice. And almost used them again in the 60's. A cooter hair away. Built up an arsenal and kept building them in the 80's. If anyone has proven to have an ability to use them....its the US. So whos role is it to police us? Let me guess.....noone...but we must do it.

Oh and our nukes have protected our country for many years my friend. Our having nukes has meant you have the internet and every other freedom. Read American history from 1945 on.
Our use of the Atom bomb was totally reasonable. The Germans were working on one as well and we were lucky to have gotten ours ready first. Or would you rather have had another million Americans killed in war.

there are LOTS of groups inside the country that want saddam gone. we have people trained specifically to help them do such things. what i feel we should have done is let these people do the dirty work, let them get the country on the virge of overthrow, or on the virge of these groups attacking the government, then have a "terrorist" bomb take out saddam... or we come in and bomb the crap out of his communications equipment.

I disagree we are a global society and that has a new set of rules to play by. Going to war with Iraq is not to defend America that is an excuse Bush is using to cover for a failing economy. I am not blaming him for the economy I feel he sees a way out and a way to gain points. Will I vote for him only if he is the lesser of the evil that runs for the next term….
