Bush and not the good kind
Normally I steer clear of political diatribe, but I have to say a couple of things.
1. It takes 3 to 4 years to see the effects of a presidents term on the economy, remember the disatrous reagonomics crap. Bush #1 fixed that and Clinton reaped the rewards. remember before 9/11 when the stock market began to lose value? that was the results of Clinton's presidency now add to it the effects everyone is feeling from 9/11 and the economy will be years before it can be brought back on track. If GW is given the chance he can fix it and has what i feel some excellent stimulation packages planned. lower taxes being one of them. Did you hear what he said on his state of the union address. no more double taxation of american corporations
holy crap that would do wonders for the economy.
2. Iraq is a matter for covert ops, sneak in garotte the bastage, and get out. leave no evidence, just let Wolf Blitzer dangle Saddam's head and ***** on a Globally Fed CNN segment.

Ummm. Ok look at the graph above.
Look at our national debt in Bush I's era.
IT dropped to all time lows till the day he left. There your 3-4 year test range.
Under Clinton It hit an All time High.
Under Bush II's Its fallen to a record all time low again. Thats not coincidence. Its economic planning. And its putting your future and your kids future at risk.

On that graph it shows an immediate downturn right after it peaked while clinton was still in office. Its not GW's fault. just a result of what the economists call a "trickle down economy". As I said i try to stay clear of political debate. but some of you guys should really learn how the american economy really ticks. not what a bunch of media hype and "pretty little graphs" show. They are both full of

Particularly check....
His baseball dealings
His Oil Dealings
And Lets not forget what roll he played in helping his Enron buddies.
You think Clinton lies, better dig into Mr. "Yeah, Ive been to Kennedy space center" Bush. After the tragedy. Only to be later called out by the Space center as to never being there....Ever. At least not as a public official.
Youd rather have a proffessed drunk, who was busted for driving drunk on the same streets that someones kids may of been near, than a guy who got caught copping BJ's. Would rather hate the cheater of wives than the Beater of Wives.
Youd rather have a guy lie about his Virtual non existant military career, and have daddy hide him from any wars than a guy who Copped a BJ and tried to cover it up.
Takle the real issues. Like Clintons accomplishments vs Bushs........oops are there even any to speak of except to about to be blatantly hypocritical.
Is it not hypocritical to want to invade Iraq for non compliance with Nato Treaties...yet be willing to go against Nato in a "I dont care if Nato is behind us or not, WE going to WAR baby"
Not to mention the fact that the world leaders consider him a dolt and an idiot. If I hear the man butcher basic words and sentences anymore then Im going to scream.

And where was Clinton during the Viet Nam war? Oh yea, protesting in England.
Who cars what other "world leaders" think of anyone.
Most are "world leaders" that the US has endorsed and backed.
Some hypocracy there!
What war? How many chances does Sadumbass get. They fire on US planes daily.
Do I think Clinton lies? We know he lied.
Baseball? So what. He no longer owns a team.

Those same world leaders who are now saying go to war by yourself. Included are France, Russia, and can you believe it...Turkey.
Dirty deals are dirty deals. Even if he sold the team years ago. So your telling me your ok with a corrupt business man leading our country's financial planning.
Do I know that Bush lies. Every day that he promises solid proof that 9-11 attacks can be traced to Iraq. Or that he's been to Kennedy space center. Or that he served his country during the war. Or that hes not a drunk, or a wife beater "anymore".
Oh yeah looky at that graph again it will show the 3 to 4 year trickle down effect is to be believed RR should have played off the results of Jimmy Carters success, but instead he came up with the reaganomics crap. Which forced us into deeper economic turmoil. Bush #1 fought hard to correct RR's mistakes. But yet most people will look at graphs such as the one referenced above and take them for face value because they only know what they are spoon fed from the media. If you believe that Clinton saved the economy, just open up and say Ahhh the media has a nice big spoonful of warm steamy **** for you to swallow tomorrow. There is no possible way that Clinton could have had that dramatic effect on the american economy immediately upon entering office. Our economic system just does not work that way.
Yeah because that graph which shows actual facts is and recorded historical numbers is.....what did you call it...."media hype"
If you believe that then im baffled at your lack of comprehension.
Those aren't made up figures.
I guess it You might have an argument..........if ANY STINKING president since Abraham freaking Lincoln had been able to put toghether an economic plan to string together even 1 year of Surpluss in America.
What you call media hype is what people who read books call history.
You want to know some of the reasons Bush is Directly responsible for or economic downturn and deficit.
1. Cut Taxes. Everyone told him it was a bad idea. It was designed to (how did CNN report it) give only the wealthiest 5 percent of america any real tax relief.
2. Keep screaming about wars Bush. History has shown us that wars drive the economy into the ground. People react to these things and historically spend less money.
3. Thinking funding millions of dollars into "Is their Aliens out there" out of the budget. And similar types of things.
Ok.....getting to political.

When France was busy copitulating to Germany and begging for us to help we should have said what? Sorry we need the League of Nations approval to stop the slaughter.
Russia spent itself into bankruptsy to try to keep ahead of us in the arms race. So we need to listen to them? That would be some great advice.
Germany has had its *** handed to them by us, twice. And we need them?
Man, give it a rest. We need these other countries like another hole in the head.
So Bush aint Mother Teresa. So what. What do you want in a president. A saint?
What more proof does anybody else need. We went to the edge of nuclear war with Russia in 61 over some airial photos. Russia and Cuba never admitted the containers on the ships were missles. But Kennedy is revered for his stance. And he came from bootleggers.

i'd have to agree that this whole iraq situation has gone nuts. we have special teams for covert action, we should have used them. he only has something like 35 body doubles, can't be too difficult to take enough of them out to eventually get him.
isreal did it in the early 80's when they took out that nuke plant being built by *Dun dun DUN!!!* france.... they didn't need permission, if they had asked for it they would have been turned down because of france's economic ties and they'd now have the bomb.
germany is a totally different state than it was in WWI and WWII...
both france AND russia have huge oil deals with saddam's government... i wonder why they'd try to block us taking it down?
i don't consider myself a Democrat or a Republican, but i'll be standing in line behind SweetZ28 to vote against BUSH.

oh no no no no no how could i have missed this my first readthrough...
this is absolutly 100% wrong, sorry. every high school student taking high school economics knows this.
wars are THE BEST THING for an economy that has gone to crap. sure, people don't spend as much money at first because of uncertainty, but wars are NOT cheap. wars are incredibly expensive especially equipment and logistics. whenever there is a war the government pumps MEGA money into the economy buying war supplies, which then puts people to work because of the higher demand.
as for PROOF? well, other than opening any macroeconomics textbook you can just look back to WWII. why did the depression end? the depression started roughly around the crash (note: not at the crash, it was going downhill before that but by only a few months IIRC). the depression got real bad in the mid 30's then it started to get a little bit better, but yet nothing was anywhere close to being near "normal", until you hit WWII. BOOM, suddenly the depression ends, no if's ands or buts. after the war, the economy was much much better.
and each cruise missle they shoot off is a few million dollars that goes into some contractor's pocket. that money USED to go streight into the central florida economy, as quite a few cruise missles were made at that plant (lockheed? mcdonnal douglas? i don't remember) down near I-Drive. hell, most of that land is still heavilly polluted so they can't sell it.
sorry, had to rant... but don't worry, i'm still not voting bush

*edit: i guess i should specify... wars are great for the economy PROVIDED THAT you are the winning side

Now back to the topic: I just feel the world has changed we are all one now due to the net and so on. There is no more isolationism and world wide approval is now a must...

We have been more than gracious in our handling of the situation. We have given Saddam plenty of time to comply with the UN resolutions.
3000 dead in the US and no real payback.
Actually Anasazi.....
Wars create huge economic downturn. Enormous. The reason that we hear of such huge economic upturns is that once wars are done things go back to normal. So your going from abslolutely terrible to normal. Making it seem like a giant push forward.
In all senses wars do bring on economic upturn once they are done, but only because it instigates giant downturns.
I believe that Bush has a giant hidden agenda here.
My humble belief is that he see's his economic plan is failing, and is catching flak everywhere. His approval rating has dropped from 91 percent (in 10-02) to anywhere between 49-55 now. And its declining. One thing history has taught us is that Americans as a whole rally behind presidents during wars and times of crisis.
Now Im not saying that he's trying to war because he wants a larger populus to like him...what I think though is that even though the WHOLE WORLD, NATO, and our LONG TIME ALLIES are telling us...."No" he sees an opportunity to spank a country that has no shot of posing any real threat to us militarily. And is trying to stir the economy and deter the negatives of his camapain so far.
It didn't work for his daddy....and I dont believe it will work for him.
