Post anyone got a good alternator laying around

I dont need it yet, but my guage has been very low lately. My fear is that it will go out at the worst time. So I dont want to buy a new one, but would like to have one laying around in case it happens. Besides I want to polish one up to make it look a little nicer under the hood.

TIA

I haven't talked to Bobby yet but we are probably going to part out the engine. In other words the alternator (94Z that was wrecked) is yours. What's a fair price? We probably can't get it untill next week as well.

Right now I am out of cash again. I just put a Walbro fuel pump in and a catback on so I am kinda tapped for a while. I was origionally concerned that my guage looked a little low, but then I rode in a buddy's Camaro and his sat right where mine does and he is telling me that it has been that way for over 50k. I may still consider it if it is still available when I have cash again.

Thanks
