454 Big Block for sale

For sale, 454 cid big block engine. Strong.

Great street motor....4 bolt main, 750cfm Speed demon carb, Edelbrock aluminum heads (#6045 performer RPM), edelbrock performer intake, GM ZZ502 roller cam, Scat crank and rods (rods have dowel pins), balanced and blueprinted to 8000RPM.

Engine has about 5000 miles on it from when it was in my '97 Z28, and I was going to keep it to put it in something else, but I need some money for another project.

$4500 or best reasonable offer.

I also have headers, autometer gauge package, waterpump, fuel pump, and a few other things to put it in a 4th gen Camaro (gauges work with 97+ dash configuration)

I will sell the miscellaneous stuff for $1200 by themselves, or include them with the engine for $5000 total.

-Dave Cruickshank

PS: I will deliver to anywhere in central Florida. If you live somewhere else in the state we can talk about it.

Man only if I had that much money to spend I would buy it (I know that's not what you want to hear!).
How much power does that thing push?

Re: 454 Big Block for sale

Never dynoed it but I think it pushes out just over 500HP. I ran my friend with a '97 SS and a 150shot from 60MPH and we were dead even.

The cam is a little mild... with the right cam that would allow it to make power up in the 7000RPM range it would be insane, but right now the peak power is near 5500RPM.

-Dave

PS: The cam is 224/234, .527/.544, 110LSA

The valve size is 2.19" intake, 1.88" exhaust

I can attest that this is a real good running engine.
And it fit nicely in a 4th gen.

Why are you selling it? I have a friend that is thinking of doing this conversion so I'll pass this post along to him.

Re: 454 Big Block for sale

I'm selling it because I took it out last year and now it's been in the way too long. I was going to put it in a 2nd gen TA or Camaro, but I have too many other things going on to have time to deal with it. Also, I bought a boat and need some money to get some equipment for it.

Tell him to make me an offer... I'm tired of bumping my shin into it when I go out to my washer.
