Driving cant pass a limit

Got camaro z28 1994 once the car is on 55 to 60 mph and at 2000 rpm the car starts to like shake and does a pop wont let me pass that .could it be the catalytic converter but got that changed 2 months ago

No codes? Have you scanned it?

Are you sure it is MPH and not drivetime? Does it do it cold as well as hot? What does it do under wide open throttle?

Does the Check Engine light flash? That would be indicative of a misfire.

Any modifications done to the car?

Nope no codes no light and no modifications and its starts to sputter and like sluggish

No misfire detection in OBD-1. That was added in 1996 with OBD-2.

Does sound like misfires, due to an ignition problem, resulting from the stress of lugging the engine at low RPM. Check all ignition components - coil, wires, plugs. Maybe the Opti cap.

If it is all original, as old as it is I would certainly check (or just R&R) the spark plugs and wires. Test the coil.

If all checks out well and the problem still persists; test the Optispark, following ShoeBox's instructions to the T.
