Disconnecting fuel lines

Do you have to have the fuel line disconnect tool or is there another way?

As far as I know the only way to do it is with a fuel disconnect tool. They are real cheap to buy.

I was just hoping that there was another way. I just got back with a fuel pressure guage to relieve pressure in the system. I just did not want to make another trip out today.

Why do you need to disconnect the fuel lines? I've found most work can be done on the engine - short of replacing the fuel rails - by simply releasing the clamps that hold the hard lines to the manifold, pulling the rails off, disconnecting the plastic clip that holds the fuel lines to the TB linkage cover, and flipping the whole mess back up on the cowl. No mess, no fuss.

If you still want to disconnect the fuel lines, you need a fuel line disconnect tool.

I am removing the fuel lines so I can repair the infamous Intake Leak. I did not even think to try laying it up on the cowl, and now that I have a removal tool, I can do it both ways.

Thanks for the info everybody!
