This is replacement or add on?
It's the SLP cold-air kit for an LT1. It replaces the airbox entirely. The plate on the bottom goes where the stock airbox is, the right side of the pipe (as shown in the pic) goes down to the plate, the filters go on from the bottom, the left part (again, as shown in the pic) goes to the throttle body. You still retain the rubber elbow leading to the throttle body.
BTW, it's a perfectly good piece. It functions the same as any cold air; it just has 2 filters instead of one. Kinda pricey, but a nice piece nonetheless.

The opening is for a silencer tube, used to quiet the intake down for noise regulations. You can plug the hole, or just buy a new elbow. Personally, I've always switched to a Trick Flow elbow when installing a cold air. Either way, you don't want a big hole in the elbow sucking in unmetered air, so if that is open, address it asap.

That is the one you want. However, Summit lists it as out of stock, so you might want to check elsewhere. BTW, it is a nice piece and contains everything you want (clamps, hoses, elbow). Be aware that you will need to drill a hole in the bottom to fit the Opti vent hose.
