Another question about TPS.
Another question about TPS.
Along with the car not shifting when it should, will having a TPS that isn't properly adjusted affect the amount of air and fuel that goes into the engine significantly?
The reason I'm asking is, the car has seemed a bit sluggish in 3rd gear. It screams and runs up past 6k but doesn't feel like it's giving it all its got. Or maybe my ACC converter is just really loose and sloppy.
I was out with the car yesterday and my friend was behind me in his LT1.
His car has a CAI, Borla exhaust, pulleys, 3.73's, its an A4 and that's about it.
My car has CAI, Longtubes, ORY, Catback, 3200 stall, Lvl 2 4L60e, 3.73's, 36#ers, mail order tune, 1.6's, Cam and some head work etc etc etc. He was right behind me, I gunned it from 60-90 and he was right up my rear end the entire time. It was a short little burst but I don't think I pulled away from him at all. WTF???

The TPS sensor adjustment isn't critical in the 93-97 engines.... that's why it doesn't have adjustment slots. The PCM only requires that the closed throttle TPS voltage is between 0.20-0.90V. Within this limit, the PCM sets the closed throttle voltage as the 0% throttle position (TPP), then prorates the open throttle percent from the fact that WOT voltage will typically be 4V above the closed throttle voltage. Everything (example - PE mode threshhold) is programmed vs. TPP, not TPS voltage.
The factory setting on the TPS is usually around 0.65-0.67V. And some people feel that there is an advantage in setting it between 0.50-0.67V, but I have never found any reason for that to be true.

Since my pcmforless tune was done taking all of my mode into consideration, what could be holding the car back? There are no error codes being thrown except the one that says the trans is slipping, but that one is just from my stall right? It's a brand new performabuilt lvl 2 4L60e.
Nevermind. I just checked my trans fluid again and it's completely BLACK. I think I'm going to have to give up completely. I have over $4,000 in the car just since MAY of THIS YEAR (don't want to talk about how much total) and now my brand new $1700 tranny is somehow broken. After I fixed all the oil leak issues and overheating issues this happens and crushes all my spirit and leaves me with no drive whatsoever. I know my tranny is under warranty and I talked to Performabuilt about an hour ago, but it's still going to cost be about $700 to have the tranny taken out, shipped, shipped back and reinstalled. I love this car so much but I can't afford/justify spending this kind of money on a yearly basis to have a car that just barely edges out what you can pick up brand new off of a car lot. Thanks to everyone that has helped me out on here over the years, especially recently. Sorry about the rant, I'm just a little depressed and feel defeated.
