stock crank question
stock crank question
Im thinking about building a 355 with the stock crank, forged rods, and forged pistons. what would be a safe rev limit for this setup? 65-6600? Im wondering bc this is going to be the deciding factor for the cam and what duration to run. Thanks
Ive heard of people turning 7500 rpms / 750 flywheel HP on a stock crank.
Also on the list of the fastest LT1's theres a guy running 9.7x @ 138ish ( i think) who runs a 300 shot on a stock crank 355.
I wouldnt lose any sleep going to 500rwhp or 7k with it. Balance the shortblock, go 4 bolt main for the hi rpms.

Yeah, but do the due diligence. Like Rich said, have it magnafluxed and checked for straightness. FWIW, I am doing the same thing shortly.
