Concentric wheel spacers

I did a search, and found lots of useful information, but there was one thing i couldnt find. I want to put prostars on my street car. It will not be seeing the track, so heres my question. Are the concentric wheel spacers JUST an NHRA issue, or is it also a ballance issue? Do the cheap wheel spacers work ok on the street, or do they not center themselves, causing a balance issue. If I do need the concentric spacers, what ones are out there, all I can seem to find are the cheap generic ones. If this info was out there, and i missed it, i am sorry, but i did search. Any help is appreciated, thanks Eric L

I wasn't completely sure what you were talking about at first, then I realized you 're talking about Hubcentric wheel spacers. What size(thickness) are you looking for?

pm sent.

I used some cheapie 5/16" spacers on the front for 5 years, with no problems. You just need to make sure they are held concentric as you tighten the wheels against them. Skulte Performance used to make custom hub-centric spacers, but he has gone out of business.

What is the best way to hold them centered, a little rtv when you put them on the hat? And could I get away with stock studs on the street for a season? This car is used a couple days a week for trips to work and weekend cruising. Thanks for all the info guys, i really appreciate it. Thanks Eric L

Start to tighten the wheel, tap the spacer so it is evenly spaced against the edges of the hat. Complete tightening the wheel. The ones I had were the same diameter as the hat, so it was easy to hold it in position as the lugs were tightened down.

I painted them flat black so they wouldn't be as visible, but you can see them in this photo, with some nicks along the edge letting the aluminum show through.

Thank you very much Fred. Since theres no NHRA compliance issue, can I use stock studs on the street? The other way im leaning is running the summit knock offs on the front, cause i believe no spacers are needed to run those. Thanks again, Eric L
