Air removal questions
So I just got done removing my air pump and now my car is running like crap. I had a ses light come on a few days ago, so I got it checked and it was for the secondary air injection system. Since I was planning on removing it anyway, I went ahead and decided to pull it. After first start-up, it still threw the ses light. Then as I was backing up it went off, then came right back on.
Anyways, anyone had this problem before? Any suggestions?
*Problems fixed. Blown fuse and loose plug wires.*

If your AIR pump blew a fuse, it would cause the SES light to come on. Removing the pump will not eliminate the SES light, unless you replace the blown fuse.
Removing the AIR pump should not cause the engine to run poorly. As I recall, the 95's that had the "AIR recall" done had a vacuum line that needs to be plugged if you remove the AIR system. Also, what did you use to plug the AIR connections in your manifolds?

I took the fittings to my uncle and he welded a piece of steel into the fitting to seal it. Is that ok? Also, I checked my fuses, and I had one blown. It was the only 20 fuse in the box in the engine compartment. I will be replacing it tomorrow, but does that one affect the air system in anyway. Checked my coil wire, coil harness, and MAF harness; they are all connected properly too. I will try to get under the car again tomorrow to triple check there.

Some other info, there was no lines running to my cat. The cat line was welded shut. Also, there was nothing running to the intake manifold.

Hard to tell what "fittings" you had welded up. The usual solution is to plug the holes in the exhaust manifolds with an M22-1.5 oil drain plug. I included a thin copper washer to insure a good seal. A leak at that point will screw up the O2 sensors, and cause the engine to run excessively rich.

I always forget that it shows what they are on the bottom of the cover.
Seriously though thank you.
