Crank postion sensor question?

does anyone know if an obd2 car will run with the cps unpluged? in the past i have been able to grind on the reluctor ring and the timing cover and make enough clearance to run a double roller but with this motor i cant seem to get it right. so if i leave the reluctor ring out and just unplug the senor would it run until i can covert to obd1?

You will need to use the reluctor ring as a spacer to keep the pulley aligned properly or get a crank hub from a pre OBDII. I've heard of guys grinding the ring down to just the crank diameter to use it as a spacer.
