Tranny Shake on Highway @ Low RPM?

What the hell is this?

When I'm on the highway doing 65 or so in 6th and I give it some throttle to gain a bit more speed to pass or whatever - the whole tranny shakes and bounces. So I put it into 5th to raise the rpm - then it's almost gone but still a bit there.

Seems like the car is hesitating at low rpm also - like there is a bit of a cough and a shake when shifting between gears.

I thought it could be a motor or tranny mount.

Any ideas?

Sounds like you have a miss. A miss is always more obvious in higher gears.

How are your wires? Replaced them recently? Check for a burnt/damaged plug wire.

Ahh........that would be so much better than having to replace a mount.

I am actually still running the stock wires - it may be time to replace.

What wires are best? MSD?

Lol, replacing a transmission mount would be cake vs. replacing plug wires.

I got the same problem right now, just checked my plug wires and I found the #3 cylinder spark plug boot all cracked and brittle from my headers. Hopefully after I swap it out the miss will be gone.

HA! You're right shoebox! I don't know why I thought that changing the wire could possibly be easier than a mount..........

Hell, the plugs alone took me 5 hours - so I can imagine the wires will take all freakin day!

I think I'll change the opti out while I'm at it, for the MSD model.
