Moving PCM into car
Moving PCM into car
I have my engine out and i'm doing everything i can to clean up the engine bay... right now i am working on moving the PCM under the dash.
From the looks of it, i have to extend one harness, the one that runs along the passenger inner fender. These wires are going to be hidden under the passenger side fender well, then go into the passenger compartment, and to cnnect to the PCM in its new location.
My concern here is with splicing the PCM wires. I know i have to solder them to insure a good connection. But what gauge are these wires? I want them to be the same so i do not effect any data running to the computer. Some look like 20 gauge, while some look like 18, and maybe even a couple 16s in there. Can anyone who has done this verify this for me

tip one, it won't hurt to extend a 20 (or 18) gauge wire with a 16(other then the larger diameter of the wire)
tip two, try to make the connectors go through the hole in the firewall, do not just run the wires through individually, dropping the engine out is super easy if you can just lay the harness on it, and not have to unplug everything in the car
