Daul Valve Springs=Wich Pushrods?

My ported heads that I bought have purple and redish orange springs in them. Will I be alright with some comp heat treated 7808s? Or should I step up to some hardened ones? I also have 1.6 pro mags on 7/16 arp studs and guide plates.

I was going to order the 7808s later next week, but if I need a stronger set please let me know. Sorry that I can't be more help, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Or (I'm Thinking out loud) should I have the spring pressure tested when I take them in to get looked over and then make my decision on what pushrods? The only thing that I don't want is to spend $100+ on a set of pushrods, but I will if its necessary.

You don't need the $100 set of PR's. The cheaper hardened ones will be just fine.

So the 7808s will work? I was told to get those, but I thought I'd double check first.

Just get the trickflow chromoly pushrods, they are the same exact pushrods as the comp hi-techs made by the same place, but $60 cheaper.

Assuming you've measured to know exactly what length pushrod you need, I'd say definitely get nothing less than a chromemoly pushrod. There are plenty of brands, but most are pretty much the same exact thing.

I have a setup very similar to yours and I didn't even bother with studded mains, but I sure as hell spent extra cash on good pushrods.

Wouldn't be a bad idea to get the springs tested if you don't know what they are. A good shop can measure your install height and the spring properties and tell you how you should shim them for optimum performance.

I know that they are setup right, but I was just going to check the pressure to see what pushrods to get. Also the reason for the main studs is I have heard that the bolts don't hold torque as well as the studs and that will cause you to spin bearings??? I don't know for sure, but for the extra few dollars it cost me I think they will be worth it.

You have a part # for the 7.195s? My heads have been milled, thats why I need the .195s instead of the .2s

Thanks guys

With milled heads and a zero decked block, I had to go to 7.1", but it depends.

Most of the aftermarket LT1 pushrods are 7.195".

Yeah, but my block is stock. I'll get a check tool to be sure. But I'll be getting the trick flows for $86 from summit unless someone knows where to get them cheaper
