cc306 powerband

You guys with the cc306 cam. How high do you rev up to and when does the power start to drop. I needed to know because I am going to be sending in my computer to get it tuned and need to know where I should set the rev limiter at.

Some have posted about shifting at 6400. I would push the rev limiter up above 6800 and use the dyno to determine my shift point.

^^ Ditto. Usually @ 6500 is a good shift point, but check it to be for sure.

The best way would be to put it on the dyno, find where it peaks at, and shift about 300 rpm after that. As far as how much more the limiter should be set above that I don't know.

depends on how long you want your bottom end to last. if your stock, then personally I wouldn't shift over 6300-6400 rpm's. I know the 306 cam likes to rev. higher but I would be cautious unless your ready to build a better bottom end. I have mine set at 6200 rpm's. just because I have 160,000 on my stock bottom, but I also put in the cam/heads and most other mods on my engine at 150,000. so far a great 10,000 miles on a high mileage motor. I would be willing to bet if I set my rev. limiter higher like around 6400 or higher I would of spun a bearing or something else by now.
