V6 3.8L Plug Change HOW TO?

I've got a 97 Camaro and I need to change the plugs.

Does anyone have any advice on changing them?

I've never changed them on a 3.8 and I hear its rough.

Thanx guys!

I blieve comming from the bottom and not the top helps. Roll the car up on some ramps or jackstands and come from the bottom of the engine and not the top. Never tried this way of getting the plugs out but I'v heard its a lot easier than comming from the top.

Go from the bottom, it's not as bad as most say (or at least it wasn't for me). Now that I have headers it's a cinch but with the stock logs it just takes time.

Cool Re: V6 3.8L Plug Change HOW TO?

I also believe coming from the bottom will help better than the top

It only takes me about 30min to do mine. Are they harder on the 97s as compared to my 00?

Take some pictures of your hands and arms after you're done.

Plug changes are a b!tch on our engines...def. make sure you have a couple beers close and that any neighborhood kids aren't around (all the swearing).

yeah you can't even see our plugs from the top of the car. i have worked on both and 00 only takes 20-30mins and 1997 with headers take about 1 hour or less and stock car take about 3-6 hours

Plugs 1 and 2 and 4 I did from top and 3, 5 and 6 from bottom. Seemed easier that way. Didn't take long either and I'm claustraphobic.

MUCH harder!!!

Mine took me three days to do because I always had to run back and forth to the auto store for the right tool for the right fit...
