I am putting a cam in and would like to not have to worry about bearings. I have the front cover off and the heads off. Is there anyway to do bearings while the motor is in the car?

i guess anythings possible but why not just pull it out its 3/4 the way out. you will have a hell of a time doining it and it would take longer and might be a little more risky since it will be harder to torq it all back down right. you have come this far you might as well run a hone though it put some bearings in it ring it and reassemble it. thats what im doing it just makes sense. im also putting a big cam cc306 in a used engine so im in the same boat. i hate redoing stuff because i didnt do it the first time so thats what im doing.should prolong the life of it dramaticly vrs not doing it.

Main and rod bearing are possible, though would be a pain. You cannot replace all the cam bearings with the engine in the car.
