dyno numbers

Went to the dyno the other day and I got 279.5 rwhp & 313.8 rwtq.. Are these good numbers for my mods (check the sig)and what little things can I do to get to the 300 mark?

stock programming?
you're about on par i would think, send that pcm off for a tune (or dyno tune) and pick up 10-15 more at the wheels

Those #'s are a tad low, but not too bad. I would expect around 290rwhp with headers and a 6spd. Are you going through the exhaust or do you have a cutout?

no cutout & stock programming and it was about 31*C and very humid on that day.... I thought the #'s were pretty good but I am glad to here I can probably squeeze some more out of her without doing too much...

Get a cutout and possibly delete the cat and you will be where you should be. Don't worry about tuning with you level of mods.

See my numbers. You are pretty close, about 6 rwhp/rwtq lower than me. I think a mail order tune would get you 6-10 hp.

You do have a CAI right?

BTW, I really like SSR Integral rims. Bet they look nice.

1.6 RR's should get you very close to 300 rwhp.

Ya i got a homemade cai, and the SSR rims do look sweeeet! I don't really want to take the valve covers off for RR's... I would love to get 300 rwhp with just a tune and maybe a cutout.. For this car when i am ready, I will drop in a different motor (to my specs of course) and a rear end and go from there.. I don't want to build up this motor or rebuild it. (only has 30k on it).. Been there and done that on too many other cars.. I am saving the cash to do a complete replacement of the engine and rear end.. Thanks for the responses everyone! keep it comin if you can tell me how to squeeze a few more ponies out of her..

a higher powered ignition will get you a more powerful, longer spark, a box alone with a matching coil will get you more power, but this will also let you run a bigger gap which will help the MSD 6A box is a great bang for the buck at about 150 bucks

Things like temperature, humidity and pressure are already
factored into the dyno correction factor (SAE or STP). There
is no point in thinking that because it was hot or humid that
the numbers will be low. They are corrected to a standard.
