Worth it for me to upgrade to 7/16 roller rockers?
I plan on buying some comp cams pro magnum roller rockers some time, and it makes sense that if i'm going to roller rockers to go with 7/16 non self aligning, which will also need guide plates and hardened pushrods, which will be a little more than just some 3/8 self aligning. From what I'v understood that non self aligning is that they are more increased stability in the upper rpm's and the 7/16 studs wont flex as much, in my case I dont plan to go any bigger lift cam than around .550-.560, and dont plan to rev past 63-6400. Right now I have the hotcam, and plan to get a pair of build up heads. Would it be in the best interest to go the non self aliging in my case. Thanks for any input.
I have the CC Pro Mag's and really like them. I've installed several Crane Gold RR's for friend's; performance wise I think the 2 kits will be run the same, I think the aluminum RR's are a bit noisier. You'll probably need a LT4 knock module with either kit. I'd advise you to change your springs to prevent coil bind. My friend didn't (running stock cam) and busted the tips off 2 push rods about 10K miles later.
