Lightbulb Meziere water pump enough for street?

Is the 35 gpm pump enough to cool a 12 to 1 383 or do I need to spend the bucks on the 55 gal one?

Just get the regular one. The HO one doesn't fit in 4th gen fbodys easily. A stock pump only puts out about 30 at about 6000 rpm so uhm, 35 at any rpm is good.

My CSI has worked flawless since about a year or more ago. Just a few modifications to the housing of the stock pump with the dremel and it slid right in. Dont see why the Meziere would be much different. Plus taking the extra stress off the cam and gainging a few ponies is a plus. Kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Repair a busted WP and gain HP all in one

The oem pump is pumping appr. 80 gpm at 6000 rpm. This figure was an approximation supported/substantiated by SW.

I've been running my Meziere for 3 years now, it's a good unit... just the regular one.

The elec. pumps flow more at idle than stock, not at 6,000rpm. But, you should be fine with it.

arnie, could you be more specific on your source for that? SW?

Don't get me wrong, I believe it. I read the same thing here years ago when the Meziere first came out for these cars (somebody actually posted an SAE paper with info on the stock pump) but I can't find it anymore.

Thanks,
