Need Help Removing Water Pump Drive From Block...
Hey,
I have my timing cover and intake manifold off, and have been trying to remove the water pump drive assembly from the block so I can run my double roller timing chain, and I havent had it budge yet. I hit it with a hammer, and a punch and hammer, and it doesnt seem to have moved, I have been hitting the back of the assembly from inside the intake, am I missing something
, everyone seems to think it comes out pretty easy..
Thanks,
Brandon

lol, is their a retaining plate on the assembly?? All i saw is the drive that sticks out of thetiming cover, a gear its attached to, and the silver end sticking out of the intake manifold, I must be missing something.
Thanks,
Brandon

Remove the 2 torq screw, then *hammer* it out from the lifter valley. The retaining plate and water pump drive will come out together. The retaining plate is *pressed fit* on the water pump drive assembly.
