Hooker Long tube ?

I just got my Hooker Long Tubes from Summit this week and have a quick question. On the driver side header, The front primary is disconnected from the rest of the flange and has the ability to be completly removed.

Is this normal or is my header broken? If it is normal, what does it have to be wrapped around that it needs the ability to disconnect from the rest of the header? And does any one have a leak problem with that area?

Thanks
Chris

yes it is normal, it "wraps" around the steering linkage. most ppl use a 1 3/4" T-bar clamp from summit fro $7, to keep it from leaking. that what i did.

I have Jet Hot coated Hookers and used nothing on the slip fit. Never leaked.

As above, the header is split to fit around the steering.
