Best place to put the cut-out?

As stated above, i want as low as possible noise inside the car. Also, tomorrow im putting on the cut-out and the moroso CAI. How much HP do you think its worth. I cant wait til i install the slp headers and the 1.7rrs. Then i will have plenty

Mine is right where my 3" cat-back begins, right after where the S pipe used to be before I did my LT install. It was installed when I still had a cat and sat right behind it and it seems to keep the resonance in the back of the car...

Go

I have my cutout right before the rear axle.......it sounds really good and isnt too loud inside the car. As far as Hp goes I dont know maybe 20 or so........when I installed my cutout I didn't really feel much SOTP, but it does feel a little stronger up top.

With a cutout it's going to be impossible to have no noise AND vibration in the car unless it's capped. I have mine right before the rear axle.

If performance was the single criterion (interior noise not an issue), wouldn't placement right after the Y pipe and before the cat conv (or off-road pipe) be the prime location? If not, why not?
Thanks!

Don't quote me, but I think you'll lose torque but gain HP as if at the rear you would gain a little of each. That's just some stuff I heard, don't know if it's true or not.

Mine is in my off-road pipe...Very easy to get to, because mine is manual (not electric).

It probably wouldn't be too hard to make a short length of pipe meant to replace the cap on the cutout and vent the exhaust out the side of the car ahead of the rear wheel.

It would still be loud outside the car, but it would drastically reduce the noise inside.

You could probably use a short piece of flex pipe if you wanted to go really cheap.
