Anyone went from a 4l60e to a turbo 350? If so please look.

My 4l60e is needing new reverse clutches for the second time in 6 months. Just bought the car, and the warranty on the tranny isn't gonna transfer. So after reading alot of threads on this site I have come to the conclusion that alot of people go through trannys like most people go through tires. I don't want to mess with it again after this. I'm going with a 2800 stall, and would like to know what all I need to do to fit a th350 under it, I feel alot more confident about a th350 than I do payin a grand for the 4l60e. If you have any info that would help me decide if I should, or have done this swap please tell me anything you can. I'm clueless on everything from driveshaft length, to tricking the comp to thinking I still got a 4l60e, or if i even have to do eithier. Thanks

DS length is definatly an issue, you would have to get your current DS modified, or buy a new one. My brother was going to put a th350 in his 87, but he is using my old 700r4 instead. As for the computer stuff, I am not sure as I have a t-56 in mine, but im sure something can be worked out. I would talk to Injuneer as he has a th400 in his car.

If you can find a TH350 with a 9" tailshaft you can use your stock DS. I might make the swap to a TH350 or TH400 when things get serious later on.

LOL...You need top find someone who can build your 4L60E the RIGHT way! The TH350 isn't any stronger than a properly built 4L60E, and you'll lose your O/D. Plan on running any quicker than 11.0 @ 124 MPH? I've got 4L60E's that I've built that are doing it on a weekly basis.
Just out of curiousity, is it the reverse housing reverse clutches, or the low/rev. clutches? These clutches hardly ever go in a 4L60E if it's built right. Somebody obviously missed something on the rebuild. Has the transmission lost reverse? A broken sun shell will also give a no reverse condition, but you'll also have no upshifts (you'll only have 1st gear).
