Summit sells an in car wideband that uses an O2 style sensor for about $200. Is it accurate at all? I had an autometer gauge in my TA that tapped into the stock O2 signal and I hated it. The light just bounced all over. Are any of them any good?

 

Give us the part # from Summit. I did a search on "O2 meter" and all I got was an Accel A/F meter for $233 without the sensor and $268 with the sensor. Not likely that's a "wideband".

Typical wideband sensor is in the $250-350 range, plus enough electronics required to bring the typical cost to about $1,000. If you have found a "wideband" for $200, I'm sure a lot of people would like to know more about it.

This is not a wide band, it uses your exesting sensor to flash some lights. you can get a similar gauge from Autometer which does the same, indicate rich or lean.
A wide band will give you an axact number of your air/fuel ratio and uses a special 5 volts linear sensor.

You might want to do a "search". There is a kit available that sort of goes 1/2-way to being a wideband sensor. I think it uses a particular sensor out of one of the Japanese lean burn engines. I think you can build the kit and get the sensor for maybe $300.... can't remember. Look on the "Computer Programming...." board.
