Why would you do the dual cat to single cat conversion? If you remove one of your cats will you still pass smog? If not why wouldn't you just remove both of them, and get LT's. I know that the single cat headers are better then the dual cats. Can you still pass smog with the conversion done?

Damn, u learn something new everday. I didnt know that bout the CA cars. Interesting. I'm no emmisions pro, but, u wouldnt even pass the visual inspection with no cats. They have to be in the factory positions, if I'm not mistaken. They have no testing at all around here, thats why I'm !EGR, !AIR and !CATS. I love it, cuts down on weight, and cleans up the engine bay. I feel for u guys in CA.

If he went to a single cat conversion and used a cat he might get away with a visual by putting the single cat in the place originally intended for it, under the hump.

Either way...you will need an S pipe of some sort to get from the Y-pipe exit to your catback. Summit sells various pieces of prebent pipe. try there. Don't forget a set of O2 simms.

He will not need 02 Simms. The 95 CA cars, like mine, came with Daul cats but with an OBD1 PCM which does not have the second set of 02 sensors after the cats.

Thx,
Claude

You should be able to get away with the visual inspection, just make sure that you put the new cat in the stock location, and try to pass it off as a non-Cali car (do they check VIN's?)
