Nobody ever discussed the SLP clutch pedal feel, over stock, in detail!?!?!?!?
Nobody ever discussed the SLP clutch pedal feel, over stock, in detail!?!?!?!?
I am about to put in a replacement clutch for my car. The stock unit, with the beveled fingers, was quite suprisingly hard when I started driving it. I got used to it though over time. Now, I am thinking of the SLP setup, but, since it has higher clammping force, I am scared that it will make the pedal that much harder to push. Anything harder than what I had would really suck!!
Can you all, that have them, explain the differance in feeling over a stock unit? Thanks.

when I replaced my 70K stock clutch with the LT4/SLP clutch I felt almost no difference in the pedal... they were just about identical, although the friction point was about 1" difference in the pedal.
I do NOT have the SLP clutch, but I hear it is pretty much same as stock. Our cars have hydraulic clutches, so pedal "hardness" can be affected by the master/slave cylinders. When my slave cylinder was cleaned up, it became very-very light.
i have the slp clutch, and the pedal feel is same as stock.
although, as previously mentioned, the friction point is a little bit closer to the floor. Might be that way because my old stock clutch was slipping like mad, though..

Just put in an autozone replacement with the flat fingers (not the LT4 clutch though).
Pedal feels a tiny wee bit softer but I did replace the slave cylinder.................... co-winkydink??? Clutch also disengages a wee bit closer to the floor than the last, but not much. Tiz a bit grabber and that could be due to the rough surface of the flywheel which makes it a little grabbier than it used to be.
All in all, I am happy with it, especially after the hell I went through.

I have the SLP unit and it feels exactly the same as stock. The autozone version i have heard is the LT4 PP too. I have heard valeo the only maker of our pressure plates only make 2 models, the stocker with ridged fingers, and the LT4 with flat fingers.
LT4 pp/LT1 disc here and the pedal feel is just the same as stock. it does grab a closer to the floor b/c my old one slipped so bad off idle. but if it werent for my changing the clutch myself.. .i wouldnt have noticed the difference except for it starting to grab 1/2 way up or less than before where it grabbed right at the top.
i loved mine when it was a 6 speed. it almost feels the same. there is no real difference. it feels stronger but it isnt much harder to push in. it is the best street clutch i have tried. i hight reccomend it.
