Trans Dipstick Tube

Do I need to add some sealer around the tube seal or something? I am sure it is seated, but it leaks as soon as I put fluid in.

I just pulled the tube off, and the rubber seal is chipped in one spot where it sets in the hole.

Can anyone recommend rtv sealer, or try to replace the rubber seal?

Thanks

I would replace the rubber seal. If not......try some high temp gasket sealer. I fixed a leak on my radiator with it.

Can anyone tell me if the rubber seal goes in the hole first, or on the trans tube first?

When I pulled out the trans tube, the seal is on the tube, and won't budge when trying to take it off. So I was trying to push the seal back in while on the tube. Don't think that's right .......

Mine kept popping off under hard acceleration. I replaced it with one from a '95 as it has a locking lever.
