opinions on this cam please

Comp Cams 230XL Camshaft 230/236 duration @ .050", .544"/.555" lift with 1.6 rockers. Think I could pass emissions with this and Hooker LTs or even MAC 1 3/4" midlengths?

My emissions are in Illinois so they have the sniffer and thats about it.

with some extensive tuning .. and a bunch of cats maybe

im gonna try to pass my CC306 by running my 2 FLP cats and adding a stock cat at the end .. if that doesnt work .. i'll keep adding more cats till she passes

it would be very hard, probably not worth it either, big cam is a big cam. just put in a small cam everytime you go through or find a way to get around it

Well cats need to be heated up, so they must stay close to the headers or manifolds, this is why the government forbids moving them to a new location, adding a new one to the end of your exhaust would only waste your money, may not help you pass at all. There have been some that say a cc306 will pass with a tune just specified for passing, that must be programmed in right before your test, so there must be a way. I imagine it depends also on the state, since they're all different levels and such. As far as that 230/236 I don't think it will pass well either, I assume it has a 110-112 LSA which will make things worse. I did read a post of a 224/230 might be a better choice. I just put in a blower cam, and that thing blows out some serious fumes, I could'nt imagine a huge cam with lots of overlap

why not the 224/230?

btw- cats aren't filters
adding more isn't going to "clean" the exhuast

I was debating between the cc305 and the 224/230. I want a 114 LSA so i am not sure how that works. I know the cc305 is 114 not sure about the 224/230.
