Replacing clutch on my 95 z28 about to install new pilot bearing (haven’t taken out the old one yet) & it looks like the crank race (bore) whatever you want to call it is damaged? How screwed am I? Will this be an issue or can I install the new pilot bearing?

Use a blind hole puller to remove the old, really FU, bearing and install a new one. Looks like someone use all the wrong tools trying to remove or install the one that is there.

Is the tip of the trans all FU and scored?

use some emery cloth on it to smooth it out

The transmission is fine, would I need to use a Dremel or just sand it down by hand?

??, it talking about the tip of trans input shaft, just use emery cloth by hand

I said the transmission is fine referring to the end of the input shaft & thanks hopefully that does the trick thanks for your input

on the actual bore where the new pilot bearing is going to go (basically where it is damaged/knicked) as shown in the pictures

You just need to make sure there is no metal edge or burr protecting past the inside diameter of the bore in the crank... in such a way that it would interfere with the outside diameter of the bearing, when it is pushed into the crank hole. Ditto with any burr or deformity that is projecting rearward, beyond the flat surface surrounding the crank bore. I wouldn’t remove any metal beyond those limits. Light application of emery cloth, as mentioned.
