I would think 2 coats max.
I am 99.99% sure Zymol does not layer, so I'd probably do two coats... the purpose of the second coat simply being to hope to catch any areas that were missed with the first coat.

I think he's exactly right. Carnauba waxes will not layer. Anything more than one coat and you are just spreading around more oils and/or silicones. The wax itself won't build on top of the previous layer, but rather spreads it around again and redistributes it over the surface. So, I'd also recommend 2 coats, merely for the sake of ensuring complete coverage. Anything more is really a waste...
If it's a cleaner wax, anything more than 1 coat will remove the previous coat anyhow. Of course, you can do more coats of a cleaner wax strictly for it's cleaning abilities if the surface needs it, but it won't lay down any more protection.

Sounds like you are talking about the blue colored Zymol sold at WalMart and other discount places, it is not carnauba, it is a cleaner wax and it contains bees wax. Has no durability, so get ready to keep adding coats very often if you drive the car every day and it sees rain and car washes. Zymol is a Turtle Wax product. One coat is all you can apply with a cleaner wax.
