Question Zaino question (time?)

i washed the car with dawn, clayed it, washed with Z7, applied Z1, waited 12 hours, applied Z5, waited 12 hours, removed it. My question is: Do i need to wait 24 hours before i can put on the next coat of Z5?

Hey Jeff,

After removal of Zaino Z-2 or Z-5, you should wait 24 hours if the outside temperature is under 70 degrees and 6 hours if over 70 degrees, before applying the next coat of Z-5 or Z-2.

From your post it sounds like you waited 12 hours after applying Z1 to apply Z5. Z2/Z5 are supposed to be applied directly over Z1 immediately after you finish the car with Z1. Z1 dries almost instantly, it does not need to set up or cure like Z2/Z5. By the time you do the whole car with Z1, it will be completely dry and ready for your Z5 or Z2.

Good Luck!

Z-1 does not dry unless it makes contact with Z-2 or Z-5, Z-1 is ready for Z-2 or Z-5 as soon as the Z-1 touches the paint. Z-1 is the activator for Z-2 or Z-5.

After Z-1 and Z-2/5 dry, remove with a cotton towel and enhance the gloss with a coat of Z-6 immediately.

A coat of Zaino will cure in 6 to 7 hours if the air temps are above 70 degrees, wait 24 hours for the next coat to build layers if colder than 70.

so all i have to do is put on a coat of Z5, let it sit for 6 hours, take it off, then let the nice shiny paint sit there for 24 hours?

Let it dry, not sit. Once dry remove it. An experienced Zaino user can apply it thin enough where it will be dry in 30 minutes, unless really humid or cold. If it is taking 6 hours to dry, you are using WAY too much. Nobody said you have to leave your car sit for 24 more hours either. If the car isn't dirty, just use a California Duster and then some Z-6 to get the surface clean as possible and apply another coat. I drive mine all the time between coats.

It is ALOT easier than you think, if it isn't, you're doing something wrong.

ok i got it now! =), anyway, it dries in about 45 min. So i should take it off as soon as it is dry, then let it cure for 6 hours (80 degrees right now)
