Talking Zaino Question, MikeLS: input please =)

I have been using Zaino for over a year. I love the shine. I get compliments on it everywhere (even when the car was dirty and then rained on! ) I have started my own detailing business using mostly zaino products and am doing quite well.

Now that you have the background info, my uncle sells Cal spas. Some of the new models have a really nice smooth look. It is acrylic (spelling?) It looks great. I have detailed his car and he loves the Zaino. He wanted to know if it would be safe to use on the spa shell, an acrylic surface, in order to catch the customers eyes more (*Brilliant Shine*, need sunglasses: ) I know Zaino is not abrasive, but will it enhance the shine with one or two coats of Z-2? And would i need to use Z-1 beforehand? Thanks fo the input guys.

Z-1 is not needed, Zaino is good to use on any hard, smooth surface, so the answer is yes you can use it.

Jeff, I am not talking for Mike but I use Zaino on my spas at my home and at my shore house, it does a great job keeping the spa looking great, just be careful not to get Zaino on the area where someone might step to get in the spa (ask my fiancee) it can be slippery.

Dont tell people stuff that simply isnt true. There is a difference between meaningless BS and usefull information. I think its clear what that comment it. I dont see why Mike carl and darth dont pounce on YOU.... they dont like meaningless BS (oh i guess meaningless BS that helps zaino is ok though right?).

Talking

Wow, congrats of your detailing biz! Sounds like you're doing quite well. But, I think you could earn even more repeat business using "less durable" products so the customers need wax jobs more often. Of course, nothing wrong with offering the best to the customer as well!

Hmmm, I'm not sure if I can completely answer your question about the spa issue though. If the spa surface is already pretty glossy, Zaino will probably help it shine a bit more. If it's a matte (dull) finish, the Zaino won't do much. Sounds like they may be more shiny than dull though. What you may try is doing a small section of a spa and see if you notice a difference. You could try just Z2 on one section or Z1 and Z2 on another. I personally don't think you'd need Z1 for this application, but you never know. The only other issue that comes to mind is the slickness of the spas afterwards. You wouldn't want customers slipping on the surface and then find out you caused it to be so slick! I've used products like Liquid Glass on sink surfaces and the like, but never on surfaces where you'll ahve to stand. But, if it's just the spa shell (outside area) it should likely be perfectly fine.

I've heard of guys using Z on boat shells and other watercraft, so I suppose a spa would work fine too hehehe. To be on the safe side, you might give Mr Zaino a call, as I'm sure he would know much more on the specifics of this application than I. I would think a nonabrasive product, like Z, would be preferable because the abrasives in other products could marr the finish depending on how delicate it may be.

And, as another recommendation, for a cheaper and even quicker shine, but less durable, you could use a pure carnauba wax. A jar of S100, Mother's pure wax/cleaner wax, or 3M Show Paste, would probably shine great too, at least long enough to sell the spa, unless they are outdoors in the weather.

HTH!

Mike

Thanks for the input guys. To answer a few questions, the spas a very shiny and have metallic flakes mixed in. Looks very nice Second, the spa inquestion is going to be proped up on a display stand at about a 55-65 degree angle. No customers will be getting into this one. I may just be doing this one spa, or several more, i don't know yet. Thanks for the warning about the slippery-ness

As for the Topless IDIOT. SHUT UP and stay out of conversations unless you have something meaningful to input. You have been banned twice, take the hint and leave. Aparently you've never used Zaino properly, cuz it shines all the time. You are full of BS. So why don't you take your punk butt and talk crap on Ford Message Board!

To all the other cool guys, THANK YOU!

Wow, in that case Zaino that thing! The Zaino will make the metallic flake look incredible I'm betting and help protect the finish from wearing. My last car had a little metallic flake to it, and Zaino really made the flake clear and noticable, i.e. really stand out. Should really look great and might increase sales too!

Now, just don't let the customers lean on or try to get into that one, or they'll slide right off lol!

Too bad you've never used it to really know what is true or not. Actually, almost every time I've been caught in the rain I hardly have any spots of my car. Sometimes it does but not most the time, unless I had to drive thru a muddy area. All I have to do is use the Z-6 and it looks like I just polished it.

So are you working on getting banned under the, what is it now, third user name. You've shown time after time that you haven't got a clue about Zaino or even much about detailing. You come across as a 14 year old kid who likes to play on the internet and just start BS for fun. Don't worry though, you are bound to make a friend someday.

See, this is a true statement about Zaino's capabilities from someone that knows exactly what they are talking about. I completely agree with it, because I've experienced the same things and can relate to exactly what he is referring.

You see abpurpletroll, you never gave any indication of what Zaino did other than your few pics as proof that you used it, which probably weren't Zaino to begin with. Statements like Kevin's above are true and factual and have a basis of fact, not meaningless BS babble garbage. When you learn the difference between the two, maybe someone will take you serious.

Just currious. Are you saying you use Z6 after your dirty car gets rained on? Wouldnt that be like rubbing dirt on your paint in come form. I would Z7 first instead of trying to get dirt off with Z6. I could be wrong but i dont think Z6 is designed to clean your car.

If the car is dirty, I wash it, if it has a few water spots from the rain, I simply use the Z-6. The Zaino makes it VERY easy to keep the car clean. Since I don't have a single swirl on my car, I guess I'm doing it right.
