Wax residue

I washed, polished and waxed my blk sunfire last night but by the time i was gonna take the wax (NXT) off it was dark out. So I pulled the Camaro out of the garage and put the Sunfire in to take the wax off. This morning I looked at the Sunfire and realized there's still wax on it. The lighting in the garage isn't that great. I thought I had gotten all the wax off but u can see faint streaks on the car under a bunch of dust. I had put it back outside and the Camaro back in the garage and the Sunfire got covered with dust overnight. What can I do now? Do I need to rewash it or can I take it to a self car wash and use the spotfree rinse? Maybe I should get a Cali car duster? Any advise is appreciated.

Re: Wax residue

u could wash the car again....and go out and get polish with cleaner and rub it everywhere pretty much, even places u think u got the wax off from. This will act as a cleaner and remove any of the wax u have layered on the car. Also meaning that u would no longer wax on ur car...so if ur goal was to get wax on the sunfire, then u may be re-doing it this time in better lighting ....Its worth it for the shine

Re: Wax residue

I'm gonna use a little bit of Meguire's Final Inspection on some parts and I'll let the rain fix the rest of it for me. Everyone's telling me that the car looks great and they don't see what I'm talking about... i'm a perfectionist so I can see the streaks tho they're very faint.

Re: Wax residue

Do the whole car with Final Inspection. It will remove any wax residue, streaking, and dust safely. A wash would work good too (hand wash, none of that drive thru crap).

Re: Wax residue

No, No not the car wash! Get a garden hose, gently wipe off the dirt, then take a mist sprayer of water and mist it lightly, and buff off the rest of the residue. Whala!

Please don't use any cleaners after you've waxed. You will remove all of your good efforts. Just the mist and the final buffing will due nicely.

Re: Wax residue

what do you use to dry the car ?? if the car got dusty, then rinse with the hose, and once the car is fully rinsed remove he nozzle. let the free flowing water run on the car from top to bottom. this will provide a "sheeting" action and there should not be that much water to dry. then go over the vehicle with QD
