Question Wax chrome wheels?

Is waxing chrome wheels a good idea - I've heard of people doing it but I have no clue. I have factory chrome 5 spokes on my Z and all I do is wash it regularly and they look brand new. Should I use wax or is this not a good idea? Thanks.

Yes, it is a good idea.. Not only will it help protect them, and keep them shiny, it will also help make it easier to clean them..

I can vouch for this. I applied some Z2 on my chrome mags...let them sit for awhile...then rub it off. They are SO much easier to clean later on down the road.

Wax melts, if you use a traditional carnauba wax it will be on the wheel only until you drive the car and the brakes heat up the rim, if you use a synthetic it will be much more durable, same thing goes for you paint. Do you know how hot a black paint surface gets in direct sun on a 85 to 90 degree day, try close to 200 degrees.

try out the mothers chrome polish. I use it and it looks awesome. Fairly cheap to. They sell it at the local parts stores.
