Using Meguiar's "PlastX" on Tail Lights?

Want to buff up years of dirt/fading/etc. on the rear tail lights. Worried about the RED lenses of the lights. Meguiar's states that it can be used on CLEAR plastic. Wonder if anyone here has used it on the red lenses of tail lights?

Thank you.

Best of health and longevity.

Gracias.

Just received an e-mail from Meguiar's stating it was fine to use their product on all lenses of my tail lights.

Best of health and longevity,

Steve

I've used PlastX on turn signals, side markers, tail lights, and pretty much any plastic lens. It brought all my lenses back to new, my ex's 3rd gen, co worker's Vette, and the list goes on. I still have the same bottle! Just keep buffing it and adding liquid till it starts to squeak and you're done.

A quick question on this subject, i've used the Plastx on my headlights and it's not really working! It's improved it, but still very yellow and cloudy. Do I have to take the light out and remove the lense to clean the inside?

Not sure about the headlights (camaro I presume) but I used it on my taillights and worked like a charm. What I did and what I would recc to you is pull the light completely off the car and wet sand it starting with a 1000 grit (lots of water) and sanding in a crisscross pattern and then step up the paper to 1500 then 2000 then 2500 and finish with 3000. Once your done polish it up with the plastix and I would use a buffer as that's what I did on mine and it came out brand new looking. The yellow you are seeing is sun/weather fade on the outside and will not help if you clean the inside. If you look at most of the kits on the market to restore headlights they require wetsanding, but do yourself a favor and buy the paper and plastix and do it yourself to save you some bucks. Good luck it's really not that hard and can be done in just an hour or so.

You probably need to do a headlight restoration.

That's a good thread and my Camaro looks exactly like what your's used to (white as well!). I'm going to get on to that next week, although i'll need to do it by hand - no buffer and can't find attachments for my drill anywhere!
