Sponges

Can anyone recommend a make of sponge that is really good.. I'm not too impressed with mine, it's falling apart and doesn't seem too soft. Thanks

Never, ever use a sponge on the paint for washing, ESPECIALLY not on a black car.

I would only use an all cotton wash mit (the kind you put your hand in) or all cotton toweling to wash with.

Sponges are not cotton, you should only wash clear coat with something made of cotton and also sponges have zero nap, basically with a sponge you are trapping dirt particles between the sponge and the clear coat, and that is a great way to scratch the heck out of the clear coat.

Oh, I didn't know that. Out goes the sponge...

Any spacific brand of cotton mit that you recommend? Or will just any 100% made in US cotton work?

Thanks a lot.

Actualy.. would the cotton applicator pad that you get from Zaino work? I orded an extra one just in case, so I would have one for my waxing and the other for my washing... let me know if thats ok.

No, those pads are way, way too small to wash with and they do not have deep enough nap for paint washing, you can get a good cotton wash mit at NAPA.

The part # for the NAPA cotton mitt is: 760-1130

I ordered a dozen of them on-line.
