which washing medium to use (sponge, towels, etc?)

i've always used a sponge to wash my cars, but now that i've ordered zaino, the instructions say that sponges can cause scratches (by not taking away surface contaminants, and rubbing them around)... well, i used a small towel yesterday, it did a crap job, didn't take the 'dust' away from the surface, so i'm not happy with that, thus i think i'm gonna go back to the sponge...

what are everyone elses opinions, my car is brand spanking new, with black metallic paint, whcih i know scratches easily, hence why i don't want to use anythign that could scratch my paint

I recommend a high quality sheepskin mitt. I use Eurow brand available at most Wal-Marts.

Re: which washing medium to use (sponge, towels, etc?)

Currently I use a sponge; which is replaced at the end of every washing season. To date, I have not seen any scratches or swirls appear in my car.

With that said, I have been researching wash mitts because next year I plan on using Zaino and will see about using something else. So, DFtowell has been my so called "portal" at looking for stuff to use. I have read and heard many thing about their products, especially their wash mitt. You might want to check them out at www.dftowel.com Hope that helps.

I use only 100% cotton made in USA white bath towels, the 10 dollar kind. And I trim the edges off and wash only in liquid detergent, separately.
