removing area around the shifter

My friend spilled coke all over my car today, and I need to know how to get the plastic around the shifter off, i have an A4, but when I unscrew all the nails, it will loosen, but the shifter will keep it in place. How can I remove the plastic around the shifter without tearing it apart to pieces?

There are two bolts in the front(under the dash), two inside the center storage compartment, and one under the upper console (part with cigarette lighter/ashtray/cupholder). There are also two smaller screws that join the upper console with the lower console inside the storage compartment. I think this is correct.
