Based on the age old question of how much you want to spend, you can get probably the best available at about 150 bucks with the Porter Cable or spend about 30 or 40 and get a orbital buffer at AutoZone.

I use the Porter Cable random orbital buffer/polisher. Excellent piece of equipment.

I bought one off Meguiar's website years ago along with their velcro backed pads. (I know, I know I said the "M" word, but that was before I found the light...in Zaino.) The buffer was used extensively on a black trans, black monte carlo and a, yes, black tahoe. Great buffer that won't burn your paint.

It also sands wood.
