Quick Zaino ?s

I got my claybar today. I am going to wash the car (with Dawn) apply the claybar then put on whichever coats I can before having to wait the 24 hours to dry. However is it OK to drive my car tonight with the wax still on it and still drying, or should it sit in my driveway?

It is OK to drive once you've removed the 'hazing' (though it doesn't haze in the same sense as a conventional wax), and waiting for it to cure...

But do not drive around before you remove the polish...

What Darth said.

Unless you're just driving to the corner store...

I would also suggest that you don't let it sit too long anywhere outside, due to airborne elements, dust, etc.

Last weekend, I put some Z5 on and went inside the house while it 'hazed.' I go back outside 45 minutes later; Two coaster-sized splats of bird sh*t. I'm still mad about it.

In conclusion, your car will get dustier if you're driving it.

I personally would never drive the car with the Zaino drying on the finish. You will pick up dust/dirt/contaminants that will scratch when you try to buff the Zaino off. And, it's really not a good idea to use Z6 on top of the drying polish to clean the surface either.

I just don't think it's a good idea to drive the car until after it's all polished up.....

Properly applied any Zaino polish should be dry in 30 to 45 min. 24 hours is over kill waiting for it to dry. Also, NEVER drive a car with any kind of wax or polish on the surface and never wet a car that has wax or polish present on the finish, both asking for one huge mess if you do either of those two.

so perhaps a little off the original intent of this thread...but i figure why waste a new post when it can get answered in here..i have a 96 T/A that i've been using meguars (sp?) wax on since i bought it last october..come this winter i should have all my parts for my 98+ front end conversion painted up nice and on the car..my question is..if i start using the zaino system on the car will there be any kind of problems with my front end having completely new paint and the rest of the car having the old paint? the paint is in outstanding condition because i keep it waxed and washed regularly however. also..while i'm on the subject..i've read that zaino doesnt really show up quite as well on white cars? any thoughts?

There should not be a problem using Zaino on the fresh paint or on the older paint. Just make sure to remove any old existing wax with DAWN and that all the panels are a uniform color and gloss. If the older paint isn't as shiny or smooth as the newly painted section, clay it, and polish it if necessary to bring back the gloss. Other than that, shouldn't be a problem at all to Zaino the whole car. I have used Zaino on a car where some panels were repainted and after claying, it all looked fantastic. Here's my old Camaro that had some body work done after a wreck several years ago. There was quite a bit of repainting in various areas, but after prepping the car and some Zaino it was looking like a showcar again! You really can't tell which parts have been repainted and which is the factory 10 year old paint. It all looks great!

As far as Zaino on white.....I was helping a neighbor Zaino his white Infiniti M45 recently and afterwards the paint still looked mirror-like and very shiny. Since white doesn't show much depth, the Zaino helps bring out the glossyness and adds it's own mirrored touch.
