Anyone ever heard of Collinite wax?
Anyone ever heard of Collinite wax?
I saw this wax in a local speed shop and I haven't seen it anywhere else. I was wondering if anyone has ever heard or tried this product before?

Yeah, Collinite has been around for a while, but just doesn't have a popular following like many products, probably because it's not marketed much. Collinite's waxes are pure carnauba wax (no cleaners) and are probably the most durable of any carnauba wax out there. Collinite is known mostly for its durability, as the wax can last 3 maybe 4 months on a coat or two. The shine is average, but for durability from a carnauba, Collinite is king. This wax can even outlast some synthetic products. I'd probably go back and pick up a can or two to play around with, since this wax is very hard to find. I've never seen it locally, just internet order.
The only downside is that it can be a pain to work with, i.e. hard buffing. You will usually get a workout from a coat of this stuff, so if this type of waxing bothers you, it may not be for you. You can certainly do better in terms of shine, but what it lacks in shine, it makes up for in durability. I'd say this wax is more protective than most any other carnauba wax, but not up there like the best synthetics like Zaino.
From what I understand the Marque D' Elegance wax is essentially the same as the Super Double Coat, except the Marque has some extra scent agents to make it more "pleasing" whike you're waxing....

But... as with any carnauba product once the peak melting point of carnauba on a hot day on a hot car paint surface is breached (carnauba becomes unstable and melts at about 125 to 150 degrees, car paint in the summer on a sunny day can go over 200 degrees) the wax will become unstable and not adhere to the finish and will wash off as soon as the paint is wetted.
