Question about high quality paint job.

Okay, so I got my car out of the body shop after they repaired and painted my front end. I decided to take my front license plate cover off and I noticed that there is a mark from where the license plate cover was. Basically it looks like they didn't remove the license plate cover when they applied the clear coat or something like that. This is supposed to be a high quality job, so is it okay for me to be upset that this mark is here? Or am I over reacting and should I just live with it?

Thanks for reading,
Matt

This is on your SS correct?

If so, isnt the plate location mounted on the black plastic and wouldnt be painted anyways?

How much did you pay? And did they just do some panals to fix road rash? or blend the paint in?

The shop that my BF has and that did my GTO partial re-paint, they always remove the headlights (for overspray) and in my situation, they took off the front bumper and painted it off the car and then blended everything back into the doors.

Yeah, it is my car. The license plate cover is is actually mounted to the grill and they don't paint the grill or the plate cover. I paid a 1000.00 deductable and my insurance paid 985.00. They basically replaced all my lights, repaired the front bumper, and painted it. They also re-painted my hood and both fenders. The car actually looks great. I took the car back to the body shop and he said he would fix it no problem. So, I'm not really stressing about it now. Thanks for the reply!

A good painjob would include removing front, and rear bumpers, side mirrors, licence plate covers, tail lights, etc... There can be no exposed edges of paint, otherwise it runs the risk of peeling.

Good thing you spotted this. make sure they fix it right... It only takes a minute to remove the licence plate mount.
